Huffington Post: Occupy movement "is as good as dead"

Writing for the Huffington Post this afternoon, Andy Ostroy says the Occupy movement "is as good as dead."

It's one of the few HuffPo pieces I agree with, he calls to attention Occupy's obsession with tent cities, its inability to elect candidates to office, the unfocused agenda, and its insistence on class warfare.

There is one glaring omission in his piece: the takeover of the movement by violent Black Bloc anarchists--with a supporting cast of socialists and communists.

I mean, how many supporters are you going to gain by holding "F*ck the Police" marches. Besides, cops are union members too.

When you are on the left and you lose Huffington Post, it's time to fold the tents.

Romney visits Obama failure Solyndra

Mitt Romney visited a temple of Obama failure this morning, the shuttered Solyndra plant in northern California. "We're at Solyndra. That was great fun. We had a great gathering, and looking at the Taj Mahal which is known as Solyndra. An enormous conflict of interest on the part of the president," Romney said after leaving Solyndra, which view can see on Tout.

Last year the Daily Caller wrote that Solyndra enjoyed "a cozy financial relationship" with the White House. Cozy it was--the defunct firm burned through over $500 million in government funds.

Romney is showing a feistiness that has been missing from his earlier campaigns. While at Solyndra, he checked in there on FourSquare. The Washington Examiner noted the the former businessman "intends to fight the guerilla warfare of a presidential campaign with a new aggressiveness and combativeness."

Good for him.

It was a bad day for the Obama-Biden campaign. At a press conference in Boston, Romney supporters drowned out Obama's Svengali, David Axelrod.

Edwards not guilty on one count, jury deadlocked on five others

John Edwards, one of the most loathsome politicians on the planet, was found not guilty on one count--and the jury was deadlocked on the other five.

The one he prevailed on was the charge that he accepted from then-nonagenarian Rachel "Bunny" Mellon.

He's expected to make a statement soon--and it sure as hell better include an apology to his misguided supporters who wanted him to become president.

How bad is ObamaCare? Even a 'popular' part of it is unpopular

ObamaCare is sooooo unpopular that even one of the better received parts of it, the small business tax credit, is not so popular.

From AP:

Although opinion polls show the credit is one of the most popular ideas in President Barack Obama's health care law, only 170,300 businesses out of a pool of as many as 4 million potentially eligible claimed it in 2010, about 4 percent.

A recent government report found the tax credit time-consuming to apply for and not rewarding enough to be financially attractive.

To begin with, the GAO said, the tax credit is structured so its biggest benefits go to very small companies paying low wages. About 4 out of 5 such businesses don't offer coverage, and the tax credit is not sufficient to encourage them to start doing so.

"Small employers do not likely view the credit as a big enough incentive to begin offering health insurance," the report said.

Of course ObamaCare could be in history's dustbin--which is a well-deserved fate--if the US Supreme Court throws the bill out.

(Video) MA Gov. Deval Patrick praises Bain Capital

Later today the Obama-Biden campaign is expected to criticize Mitt Romney's time as governor of Massachusetts in a press conference.

But Romney's successor in the Bay State, Deval Patrick, is the latest Obama surrogate to veer off the campaign script.

While on MSNBC's Morning Joe earlier today, Patrick had this to say to Donnie Deutsch about Bain Capital, "Well, I think that the Bain strategy has been distorted in some of the public discussion. I mean Bain is a perfectly fine company. They’ve got a role in the private economy. And I’ve got a lot of friends there, and on both sides of the aisle. I don't think Bain is the point."



It's not on the clip--I will post a longer version if I can find it--but Patrick also commented on Massachhusetts' unemployment rate at the end of Romney's tenure. "I think when he left office, it was in the 4s. I want to say 4.3, about what the national average was," Patrick said.

And Patrick isn't just any Democratic governor. David Axelrod worked on the governor's 2006 campaign.
