'Frey and Walz are making it worse': Chad Wolf on armed man shot in Minneapolis

The mayor of Minneapolis and the governor of Minnesota are telling the already unhinged in our society to challenge armed law enforcement officers.

Plenty can go wrong--and has.

Mumford & Sons - Winter Winds

Here's a fun song about winter from Mumford & Sons. As for the video, it's good, but winter in England is a lot different that winter in the Midwest, where I live.

I mean, where is the snow?

Van Morrison, Steve Winwood - Fire In The Belly (Official Audio)

Here's a love song with a wintery feel. Well, this tune, from Van Morrisson's Duets-Reworking the Catalogue, mentions January and February, I'm not sure how much this song is about winter.

Joining the Belfast Cowboy on "Fire in the Belly" is Steve Winwood.

Oh, Northern Ireland got a sizeable snowfall this week.

The Jam - Smithers-Jones

Here's an underrated song from, if you live in America, a very underrated band, the Jam. Bruce Foxton wasn't the principal songwriter for the Band, Paul Weller was, but this tune, "Smithers-Jones," ranks among the best of the Jam's portfolio.

Foxton tells the sad story of Smithers-Jones, a middle manager who is not only laid off by his aloof boss, but then he learns his career is over as well.

Sadly, I know some people who have received the Smithers-Jones treatment.

This is the original version of "Smithers-Jones" was a B-Side to the British hit "When You're Young."
It was recorded for the Jam's Setting Sons album, with strings and vocals only, along the lines of "Eleanor Rigby."

The first cut works the best. Never out-Beatle the Beatles.

Walz under fire after threatening EXPLOSIVE force against ICE

America dodged two bullets when it voted to return Donald Trump to the White House. They were Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
