Cognitive decline: Biden caught using cheat sheets during Ukraine presser

Don't blame me, I voted for Donald Trump.

As for his successor, Joe Biden, who dragged over the finish line by a complicit media, Twitter, and Facebook--they chose to ignore or suppress the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, the warning signs about his cognitive decline were apparent as early as 2019.

From the Daily Mail:

Joe Biden was mocked online on Monday for using a printed 'cheat sheet' of answers to expected questions when he faced the media to discuss the Ukraine war.

Biden was in Poland on Saturday and declared in Warsaw that Vladimir Putin 'cannot remain in power' before flying back to Washington, DC.

Asked on Monday about his remarks, which many saw as advocating for regime change, the 79-year-old president referred to a typed cue card for hints.

The Western Journal has more--including what was on the cheat sheets.

"If you weren’t advocating for regime change, what did you mean? Can you clarify?" the anticipated question said on the card.

"I was expressing the moral outrage I felt toward the actions of this man," the spoon-fed answer read. "I was not advocating a change in policy."

Three killed and at least twenty others wounded over weekend in Chicago

Spring is officially here. Which is bad for Chicago because as the temperature climbs so does the murder rate. Over this past weekend three people were shot to death, all on the South Side. One in Roseland and two in South Chicago.

At least twenty others were wounded, including a child who was grazed by a bullet while riding in a car on the Northwest Side.

Hunter Biden story is a lesson on the 'corruption in journalism': NY Post columnist

Most journalists don't want to report the news. It's about advancing their false narrative for them.

The Hunter Biden laptop scandal is just one example.

Daniel Boone School in Chicago may get new name because he's an "historically egregious figure"

Please make the wokeness stop.

Schools need to educate, not talk at people. As for the former, CPS doesn't do a very good job of that.

From the Chicago Tribune (paid registration may be required):

Daniel Boone Elementary will likely bear a different name when the West Ridge school marks its 100th anniversary in a few years. Boone's Local School Council decided in January to ax its frontiersman namesake after the Chicago Public Schools equity office determined slave owner Daniel Boone was a "historically egregious figure."
Boone is moving forward with the name change as CPS drafts a policy for schools that want to dump names and mascots tied to slavery, racism and misogyny. CPS spokeswoman Mary Fergus said the proposed districtwide rules — which have been in the works for several months — are expected to come before the Chicago Board of Education this spring after a public comment period.
The school, meanwhile, launched a survey to solicit community input on a new name and scheduled an in-person forum for 4 p.m. Wednesday for parents, guardians, staff and community members who are Black, Indigenous or people of color.
School administrators told families last week that students will conduct research to help their class propose a school name. Suitable nominations are slated to be presented to the community at the end of the month.
Oh, what's this? Was anyone left out? "This is a Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) forum for our school community," according to Boone Post.

According to the Tribune, 14 percent of the students are white.

The forum is scheduled at the school at 4pm today.

2 dead and at least 26 wounded, including 7 in mass shooting, in Chicago over weekend

There was much frivolity in Chicago over the weekend--there were four St. Patrick's Day parades in the city.

But there was also the usual violence. Over this past weekend two people were shot to death, both on the South Side. And at least 26 others were wounded, including seven in a mass shooting outside a Little Caesars restaurant in South Chicago.

Biden DEFENDS shutting down Keystone XL pipeline on first day on office, "Give me a break!"

Hey, let's get things straight. One of the leftists' reasons for not drilling here or drilling now as gasoline prices soar is this whopper of a distortion.

"Well, we're a year or two away from seeing results." is how they usually phrase it.

Joe Biden's anti-fossil fuel policy began, wait for it, one year ago. And if Biden is right when he said the much-needed Keystone XL pipeline was two years away from bringing Canadian oil to America, well, in a year we'll need that petroleum and much more.

Five years from now we'll need oil.

Are you angry about high gasoline prices?

Blame Democrats.

Bidenflation: Inflation hits another 40-year high, worse coming

Look for Joe Biden and his apologists in the media to blame this latest price spike on Vladimir Putin.

But these are February figures, Russia's invasion of Ukraine began with just four days left in that month.

 From Fox News:

Inflation hit a fresh 40-year high in February, largely driven by higher gas prices.
The consumer price index climbed 7.9% on an annual basis, according to data released on Thursday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Month-over-month, inflation rose 0.8%. The year-over-year reading is in-line with estimates and compares with an annual 7.5% jump in January, marking the fastest increase since February 1982, when inflation hit 7.6%.

Gen. Mark Milley, in charge of our military during the Afghanistan debacle, predicted Kiev could fall in three days

Latvian street graffiti circa 2000
Here is more proof that the dumbest people on this planet are the experts.

Flashback from February 6 from Fox News.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley told lawmakers that Kyiv could fall within 72 hours if a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine takes place, multiple congressional sources tell Fox News.
Milley told lawmakers during closed-door briefings on Feb. 2 and 3 that a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine could result in the fall of Kyiv within 72-hours, and could come at a cost of 15,000 Ukrainian troop deaths and 4,000 Russian troop deaths.
'A Donald J Trump appointee--gasp!--Milley was chairman of the Joint Chiefs last year during our humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, which was almost two weeks ago.

Tucker: You are about to get a lot poorer

In short, Vladimir Putin is not responsible for soaring gasoline prices.

Joe Biden and the Democrats are.

Joe Biden: "I know there's a lot of questions, but there's a lot more that has to be made clear"

Have you ever worked for a boss who talked a lot but didn't listen? That's Joe Biden--and he throws cognitive decline into mix of failure.

When announcing an embargo this morning--ten days late--of Russian oil he fell back on lies and AOC talking points on energy.

Biden is an embarrassment.

And of course "Walk Away Joe" didn't take questions after his announcement.

The first weekend in March saw just one person shot to death in Chicago, a man who was found dead Friday face down in the South Shore neighborhood.

Three teens were wounded over the weekend, one on the West Side and two on the South Side.

Photos from the pro-Ukraine protest at Chicago's Daley Plaza (some pics NSFW)

Last Sunday I attended the pro-Ukraine rally outside Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ukrainian Village in Chicago.

This afternoon there was a successful follow-up in Chicago's Loop, at Daley Plaza.

Behind the "Puck Futin" sign is Chicago's world-renowned Picasso sculpture.

Another big crown, roughly 3,000 people, this demonstration was similar to size to the one last week.

I almost didn't make it to the rally. For the first time in over two years, I rode on the Chicago Transit Authority's el, in this case the Red Line. The train stopped at Addison, next to Wrigley Field, when the conductor announced she was stopping the train, "Because of a disruptive passenger." I heard some screaming on the platform, then she announced the police were on their way, next I heard the sound of breaking glass on the el plaform. I was in the lead car--always a good idea--next to that conductor. Then she entered her compartment, and a clearly mentally unbalanced man entered the car I was riding in. Half the passengers immediately left.

I stayed.

Crime and craziness is now common the Chicago's el trains. Last month CWB Chicago posted advice by way of Reddit, on what to do when riding on CTA trains. Rule number1? "No eye contact, ever." Not only did I break that rule, but I broke an obvious one that wasn't even included in that Reddit post. Don't photograph unstable people. Which led to the troublemaker snarl at me, "Don't take no photos of me or I'll give you your life."

Hmm. Not sure what "Give you your life" means.

Then he sat next to me and videotaped your humble 60-year-old blogger, announcing "I'm sitting next to the guy who photographed me."

Twenty uncomfortable minutes later I reached my destination, Monroe Street, and he offered me this Parthian shot as I stood up, "Don't call the police on me."

Left-wing radical Abbie Hoffman once said, "I don't think my goals have changed since I was four and I fought school yard bullies." Neither have mine.

Of course, I called 911 and told the dispatcher about the disruptive passenger on CTA Red Line run 807 that had just departed Monroe Street Station at 2pm. I am not a coward.

The DePaulia has a take on the hell-hole the CTA train lines have become.

I pity CTA employees.

The man on the left is more direct than the "Puck Futin" sign holder. As for the woman on the right, "Close the Sky" was a common chant during the rally.

Oh, back to my el train ride. Let me be clear. I am not equating my unhappy trip downtown to what the people of Ukraine are enduring during the Russian invasion. However, the readers of Marathon Pundit need to know what faces them on the CTA.

Here are two longtime friends of the Marathon Pundit family who I was pleased to see at the protest.

As you know my wife is a Latvian-American. Did you think I would not post a pic of another Latvian who supports Ukraine? Do you want me to sleep on the couch tonight?

On the left is a man wrapped in a Georgian flag. In 2008 Russia invaded the Republic of Georgia. Looking up two photos, sadly, history is repeating itself.

Here is your history lesson for today.

Many of the speakers at the protest, besides calling for a no fly zone over Ukraine, were demanding an international embargo of Russian oil and natural gas. I recognized two of the speakers. US Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL), and Alderman Brian Hopkins of Chicago's Second Ward, which includes the Ukrainian Village neighborhood.

Vladimir Putin is the New Hitler. Don't just love these kids?

"Russian oil has the shade of innocent Ukrainian blood."

She told me that in Ukrainian her protest sign reads, "Russan warship go fuck yourself."

The people of Hong Kong know a lot about the loss of freedom.

"Stop the war, stop Russia, stop Putin."

Simple and direct.

"His oil our blood." Why is America buying Russian petroleum?

After the Daley Plaza protests the demonstrators marched to Millenium Park.

"Don't buy Russian goods stained with Ukrainian blood #BoycottRussia."

Think Gandalf in Moria. "Russia shall not pass!" When you look closely at the sign you'll see Putin hanging from a noose.

The Putin virus needs to be stopped!

Many thanks to Chicago Public Square for the link to last week's protest post.

Longtime Illinois House speaker and Democrat Party chairman, Boss Michael Madigan, finally indicted

Madigan graphic courtesy of
the Illinois Policy Institute

Truth be told, I never thought the feds would nail Boss Michael Madigan, the Chicago Democrat who destroyed Illinois. Here's a guy who never used email. After all, you never know who is watching.

From Fox Chicago:
Former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on racketeering and bribery charges for allegedly using his position to solicit and receive personal financial rewards for himself and his associates.
Madigan, 79, of Chicago, is charged with racketeering conspiracy and individual counts of using interstate facilities in aid of bribery, wire fraud and attempted extortion.
The 22-count indictment accuses Madigan of leading a criminal enterprise for nearly a decade to enhance his political power and financial well-being.
He also allegedly generated income for his political allies and associates.
For much of Boss Madigan's reign of terror, his daughter, Lisa, was Illinois' attorney general. She was AG for 16 years.

Hmmm...

Madigan, among many things, is a one-man argument in favor of term limits. He was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 1971. Except for a happy two-wears in the 1990s, he was House speaker from 1983 until 2021, when the odor of scandal finally saw him ousted from the speaker's chair. He was the chairman of the Illinois Democratic Party from 1997 until this year. He controlled the party's finances. If you voted Democrat for the last few decades, you voted for Madigan and his dirty money.

Illinois has lost population every year since 2014.

Boss Madigan--you ruined the Land of Lincoln. I

I hope you rot in prison, Madigan.

Concha: This is why Biden's State of the Union will be forgotten

I'd like to add that that support for Joe Biden's speech from the left is laudatory, yes, but not specific. Criticism from the right is quite on specific on why they believe it was a disappointment.
