Megyn Kelly: John Fetterman's wife leaves country for vacation while he's in hospital

Megyn Kelly, along with the hosts of the Ruthless podcast, discuss the hospitalization of US Sen. John Fetterman, who, by the way once he suffered a major stroke was clearly not fit to serve--and his wife, Gisele.

Why her?

Instead of being by her husband's side, she took the kids with her for a Canadian vacation.

Festerman family values.

Danny Elfman: Veruca Salt

Roald Dahl was in the news a lot this week. Quite the misanthrope, one of the charms of Dahl's books was that you couldn't tell whether he liked his main characters or not.

Dahl's publisher announced this week that they would take "offensive" words from some of his works, such as the use of "fat" to describe the gluttonous Augustus Gloop from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Instead, he's "enormous."

The American Conservative says it's "better to burn the books." I agree.

Wokism needs to be smashed.

But in a pleasantly surprising reversal, Dahl's publisher announced that it would offer two versions of those artisically-vandalized books, the new woke editions and the original, dubbed "classic." Of course, the classic will outsell the woke.

Speaking of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he's my favorite Danny Elman tune--using Dahl's lyrics--from the Tim Burton-directed film, "Veruca Salt." I particularly like the sitar.

From my post at Da Tech Guy: “Roald the Rotten” Dahl an unlikely hero in battle against wokism.

Lightfoot says she "misspoke" after telling South Siders that a vote for "somebody not named Lightfoot is a vote for Chuy Garcia or Paul Vallas"

America's worst big-city mayor, Chicago's Lori Lightfoot, is running behind in most opinion polls. Nine candidates, including Lightfoot, are facing voters (election season), with the actual Election Day on February 28.

The top two candidates, in the quite likely event none of them achieve 50 percent of the vote, square off again in early April. And Lightfoot may not even make the second round.

The bad news for Chicagoans is that the Chicago Teachers Union-endorsed candidate, Brandon Johnson, is to the left of Lightfoot. And Johnson has been polling better of late.

Lightfoot is a mental whack-job. The most recent example is what she said at a campaign event over the weekend in Greater Grand Crossing on the South Side.

And she told voters that a vote for "somebody not named Lightfoot is a vote for Chuy Garcia or Paul Vallas."

"If you want them controlling your fate and your destiny, then stay home," she elaborated. "Then don’t vote."

Now she says that she "misspoke."

If you are not from Chicago, the South Side is predominantly, but not exclusively Black. Garcia is Hispanic and Vallas is white. Clearly, in dog whistle-fashion, Lightfoot was asking voters not to vote for Johnson, who is Black.

Lightfoot of course is playing racial politics. She can't rely on her record, which is horrible. Businesses and residents are fleeing the city, violent crime is way up, and Chicago was hit with two rounds of riots in 2020.

3 dead, including a 1-year-old, and three others wounded in a Chicago expressway mass shooting

There was a mass shooting last night on Interstate 57 on Chicago's South Side. Three people were killed, including a one-year-old girl. And three others were wounded, a 14-year-old boy.

Early voting has begun in Chicago for mayor and all of the city's 50 City Council seats.

Not surprisingly, Chicago's high crime rate is a major campaign issue.

NPR transportation correspondent: Train regulation dropped by Trump administration would not have prevented East Palestine derailment

Unlike leftists, I get my news from multiple sources with a wide array of viewpoints. This morning, on my way to work, I listened as NPR reported on the toxic East Palestine, Ohio derailment. Host Scott Simon interviewed David Schaper, who is NPR's transporation correspondent.

Most of the mainstream media, taking the lead from Joe Biden's failed Transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg, is either directly or indirectly blaming the spill on former President Donald J. Trump. He moved out of the White House 25 months ago, the "It's Trump's fault" meme is getting real tiresome.

Here's Buttigieg's Tweeted:
We're constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation (like the braking rule withdrawn by the Trump administration in 2018 because of a law passed by Congress in 2015), but we are using the powers we do have to keep people safe.

Wrong!

This morning, Schaper had this to say about that regulation

"But even if that rule hadn't been scrapped," Schaper explained, "it would not have covered this train because it didn't have enough cars with hazardous materials. That rule, when it was in place, only applied to trains with 20 or more such cars."

Okay, perhaps Schaper is wrong?

Perhaps not. In an honest fact-check, Breitbart illuminates the truth.

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy, a member of the Biden administration, corrected Buttigieg's lie.

"This means even if the rule had gone into effect, this train wouldn't have had ECP brakes,” Homendy corrected, and chair suggested that anyone stating the opposite is "spreading misinformation."

ECP is an acronym for "electronically controlled pneumatic brakes."

The Kinks - Living On A Thin Line - Live in Frankfurt 1984

Dave Davies, the lead guitarist and brother of Kinks frontman Ray Davies, is angry with Elon Musk and Twitter. He believes Tweets about the Kinks are being censored because of the sexual connotation of the band's name.

So to give the band, or rightly, former band some help, here are the Kinks in Germany in 1984, pounding out a Dave tune, "Living On A Thin Line."

Jean-Pierre has no update on Biden admin's internal review of botched Afghanistan withdrawal

Joe Biden's failed presidency has so much to be ashamed of, and on the top of that list is our defeat in Afghanistan.

Look for the Biden White House to continue to run away from responsibility for this humiliation.

Chicago Ald. Jeanette Taylor on a Paul Vallas mayoralty: "Hell no! I'm moving to another country"

CTU member at a
downtown Chicago
protest
In the latest CTU Speaks! podcast, co-host Jim Staros, who, according to his LinkedIn profile, is a field representative for the Chicago Teachers Union, asked "What would happen if we had a Mayor Paul Vallas?"

One of the guests, Ald. Jeanette Taylor (20th), who is running for reelection, responded, "Hell no! I'm moving to another country," as Staros giggles in the background.

If you are short on time, the relevant portion of the podcast begins at the 36:20 mark.

Opinion polls, which were mostly wrong for the 2022 midterms, should be looked at with skepticism, but Vallas usually finishes in the top two in surveys. There are nine candidates. In the quite likely scenario that no candidate achieves a majority, the two candidates who achieve the most votes in the February 28 election compete against each other in an early April runoff.

After criticizing Vallas for his role in closing some CPS schools when he was the Chicago Public Schools CEO, Taylor, who was elected 20th Ward alderperson in 2019, continued her attacks on Vallas.

"And he loves the police," she said of Vallas, who has received the Fraternal Order of Police endorsement. "In his eyes the police does nothing wrong," she continued. "And so that is so problematic. I'm going to another country, I ain't going to another state, if he makes it. It's a hell no, that man does not get it, he does not respect black and brown voice."

I'll be watching Taylor if Vallas wins.

The Chicago Teachers Union has endorsed Brandon Johnson, a far-left member of the Cook County Board.

An example of "Ruberry's Law" from Gateway Pundit: Tennessee Democrat calls Republican a white supremacist for saying he’s violating the dress code on the state House floor – But there's one big problem

Over at Gateway Pundit there is an example of Ruberry's Law.

What is that, the law that is?

Hunter Biden laptop letter 'conveniently' put together before election: Chaffetz

And Mark Dice tells us that CNN omitted a key detail when describing the shooter who killed three people last night at Michigan State University.

Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach - Toledo

Burt Bacharach died at the age of 94 on Wednesday. He wrote the music--with lyricist Hal David--a myriad of hits, mostly in the 1960s.

Many of those songs, such as "Walk On By," were performed by Dionne Warwick, but his other hits include "What's Up Pussycat" by Tom Jones, "I Say A Little Prayer" for Aretha Franklin, and "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" by B.J Thomas.

And so many more.

In the late 1990s, Bacharach recorded Painted From Memory with Elvis Costello. "I Still Have That Other Girl" from that effort gained the duo a Grammy Award.

Here's "Toledo" from Painted From Memory, my favorite track from that collection, as it showcases the strengths of both legends, Costello's compelling lyrics and Bacharach's lush orchestrations.

An era has ended with Bacharach's death--he was the last long era of American popular music craftsmen that included other greats such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Richard Rodgers.

Rest in peace, Burt.

Seymour Hersh says Joe Biden authorized the attack on Russia's Nord Stream pipeline in the Baltic Sea

A nearly forgotten story from 2022 is the bombing of Russia's Nord Stream pipeline in the Baltic Sea. Scandanavian officials have ruled it sabotage. Attacks on our power grid substations--those are unexplained, save one planned attack that was foiled--are relatively easy, in comparison to bombing something on the bottom of the ocean.

Who did it?

Seymour Hersh, a former New York Times reporter who broke the story of the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War, says President Joe Biden authorized the attack.

Facebook censors a humorous meme of Hunter Biden in his underwear carried by Chinese spy balloons because it "went against our Community Guidelines on adult sexual exploitation"

"I don't think my goals have changed since I was four and I fought school yard bullies." Abbie Hoffman.

"CornPop was a bad dude, and he ran a bunch of bad boys." Joe Biden.

And now there is Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, let's call him SuckerPop. Yep, SuckerPop.

Last week on my Facebook, in the midst of the fun, frivolity, and the furor as a Chinese spy balloon crossed our nation, many humorous memes appeared, including this one.

Yeah, that's Hunter Biden held aloft by those party balloons. It's a real photo, well, Biden in his tighty-whities with a red scarf--that's genuine--it's straight from the Hunter Biden laptop. Well, obviously the balloons are a gag--but, hello! It's a joke!

I posted that meme on my Facebook page earlier this week. I was promptly warned by FB friends on my comments thread that SuckerPop's Facebook's censors yanked the meme from their Facebook pages, with warnings, because it "went against our Community Guidelines on adult sexual exploitation."

Surely, I said to myself, "What's the big deal? Hunter's not naked, his schwantz can't be seen in my posted meme--those guys must've posted a nude pic of Hunter.

Nope--it's the same pic.

Here's what @shesova said on Twitter last week, "I LOATHE @facebook. F*ck Zuck for a 2 day suspension for posting a damn balloon with Hunter Biden in tidy whiteys! You are a POS Mark Zuckerberg! This simple pic has suspended me from my Veterans group! And you wonder why people are leaving FB? 🙄 SHARE!" My FB warning came today--I have Facebook restrictions on my account. But really, I don't care that much.

I can get my message out through my blog and other social media networks.

On the other hand, not everyone is as adept in fighting back against bullies like SuckerPop. Facebook, to protect their beloved Democrat Party and their senile president, "Lunchbucket Joe," is the head of an influence-peddling operation, has to stoop to lying, yes lying, about a funny meme.

So why am I on Facebook? Mainly to drive traffic to my blog. But Twitter, under Elon Musk, has been liberated from censorship.

Not Facebook. SuckerPop's toy loves censorship.

Biden heckled by GOP lawmakers during State of the Union

And if you believe that the Republicans who heckled Joe Biden during last night's State of the Union address were out of line, then you believe then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was too when she tore up her copy of Donald Trump's SOTU speech as he concluded his address.

Biden says China "was increasing its power and America was failing" before he took office

During last night's State of the Union address, Joe Biden said that Communist China was "was increasing its power and America was failing--not anymore."

Woke Disney garbage, Slaves Built this Country - The Proud Family

Last year, Little Marathon Pundit suggested getting Disney+ here at home, but I learned we needed to upgrade our cable box. I went to the cable provider's retail store, and they told me, incorrectly that my current box is fine.

They were looking out for me.

My current box is fine and free of Disney+ trash.

Yes, I said trash. A Disney+ show I never heard of, The Proud Family, has been rebooted.

It's a program targeted towards kids.

In the video you'll encounter a song, well, I being complimentary by calling it a song, and it's called, "Slaves Built This Country." The lyrics include calls for slavery reparations, and it demonizes white people. Presumably, that includes my two ancestors who fought for the Union in the Civil War--and to abolish slavery, Joseph Ruberry (23rd Illinois) and Patrick Curran (5th Pennsylvania).

Mrs. Marathon Pundit, as regular readers know, was born in the Soviet Union.

"Disney is harmful to children," Greg Gutfeld commented this afternoon on Fox News' The Five.

He's right.

Oh yes, I love my current cable box.

And I wasn't aware that the Illuminati had anything to do with slavery.

The Grammys: Satanism, queers, and "Uplifting Black People!" - 2023 award show analysis by Mark Dice

The Grammy Awards are so far removed from my radar it doesn't even occur to me to boycott them.

The virtue signaling event was last night. Mark Dice watched so you don't have to. Among the many lowlights was Sam Smith (never heard of him) performing some kind of music in a Satanic ritual with bondage themes.
