Sears closing last Chicago store

Closed Chicago Sears store
Gee, didn't failed Illinois Democratic governor Pat Quinn give Sears a lavish tax break so they wouldn't move its headquarters out of the state?

He did. Democrats and sound economics do not mix well together.

Meanwhile Sears is withering away.

From WGN-TV:
Sears is closing its last store in the City of Chicago.

Employees at the Six Corners store in Old Irving Park were told of the closure Thursday morning, the Chicago Tribune reports.

A liquidation sale is set to begin April 27 and the store will close mid-July. The Sears Auto Center will close in mid-May.

The company declined to tell the Tribune how many employees work at the Six Corners store, which opened in 1938.
