In a conversation that his office admitted was about the presidential race, Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker, a possible replacement at the top of the Democratic ticket, was caught on a hot mic sounding pessimistic about the November election.
“We’re just going to keep fighting. I don’t know what to say,”
the billionaire Chicago Dem said. “We’re going to do what we have to do. I don’t like where we are.”
Pritzker has been, publicly at least, an ardent supporter of the failing Biden reelection effort. NBC Chicago captured the audio.
The event he was attending--along with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson--deserves a mention. It was another one of those corporate events where guilty white Chicago area CEOs pledged money to fight violence.
That will make them feel better, although my guess is that Chicago crime will continue get worse.
