Six killed, including one teen boy, and at least 24 wounded over weekend in Chicago

Another bloody weekend just concluded in Chicago. Over the first weekend in December six people were killed and at least 24 others were wounded.

Of the fatalities, one was a 15-year-old boy who was shot to death in the Loop Saturday night as a large group of youths gathered. Last night another big gathering of "Yoots" took place downtown. While there were no fatalities there was a non-fatal shooting--also a CTA bus driver was beaten.

Back to the homicides: In what appears to be the first fatal shooting in the Northwest Side's Jefferson Park neighborhood this year, a woman shot to death in an alley early Sunday morning. Two others were wounded in that shooting. Three people were also shot, one fatally, around that same time on the Near West Side.

The other weekend fatal shootings occurred on the South Side, including a Sunday homicide of a woman in South Shore, an 18-year-old man was killed Saturday night in Englewood, and the first weekend shooting occurred Friday night in neighboring West Englewood.
