Despite lockdown Chicago sees deadliest Memorial Day weekend in five years, 11 dead at least 38 wounded

Chicago's lakefront, as I've mentioned numerous times, is closed because of the COVID-19 lockdown and it safe from the menace of walkers, cyclists, and sunbathers. Large gatherings elsewhere in the city face police officers breaking them up.

In an official Tweet the Chicago Police Department announced, "CPD deployed resources across the city this holiday weekend to reinforce the importance of social distancing and safety of all residents."
Meanwhile people in Chicago keep shooting each other. Over the Memorial Day weekend 11 people were shot to death in Chicago and at least 38 others were wounded. It was the deadliest Memorial Day weekend since 2015.

Look for Chicago's insufferable nanny-state mayor, Lori Lightfoot, who loves the lockdown, to shift blame for the weekend violence. Will she point the fingers at "guns from Indiana?"

There are so many things wrong with Chicago.
