Oh really The fiercest opponents of the Civil Rights movement were members of Barack Obama's Democratic Party--men such as George Wallace, Bull Connor, and Lester Maddox. Eighteen of the nineteen senators that filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were Democrats.
On his mother's side Obama's is descended from slaveowners.
As for myself, two of my ancestors fought to end slavery in the Civil War. None were slaveowners.
