Antonio Smith payed for that mistake with his life.
But Sharpton and Jackson had little or nothing to say about Smith's murder--unlike the death of Brown, who had just robbed a convenience store.
As for Smith's slaying, justice may be coming, despite the relative disinterest from Jackson--who lives on the South Side--and Sharpton.
From the Chicago Tribune:
Three reputed gang members have been charged with gunning down an innocent 9-year-old boy as they searched for someone from a rival gang to shoot last month. One of the alleged gangbangers, reputed gunman Allmon, has the word "Blessed" tattooed on his chest. He appears instead to be a curse on humanity.
Charged with first-degree murder are the suspected gunman, Derrick Allmon, 19, of the 7400 block of South Shore Drive; Jabari Williams, 22, of the 1900 block of North Sycamore Street in Hanover Park; and Michael Baker, 19, of the 8100 block of South Wentworth Avenue.
A fourth person, also 19, was being questioned by police.
The suspects belong to the Sircon City faction of the Gangster Disciples and were looking to shoot members of a rival faction known as Pocket Town on Aug. 20 when they came across Antonio Smith in the 1200 block of East 71st Street, police said.
