But they didn't.
According to the National Weather Service, the December-March average temperature was just 22 degrees Fahrenheit--and that is the coldest it's been in Chicago since 1872, which is as far as records go back.
We can now call the last winter historic, my global warming believing friends.
On a personal note, I can consider my self blessed. Despite the bitter cold, not once did either of our cars fail to start. And no one in the Marathon Pundit got into an automobile accident, although I did have to buy new tires for one car.
