The Chicago Sun-Times' Michael Sneed is reporting that former Illinois Gov. George Ryan will be released into a Chicago West Side halfway house on January 30. He has been in federal incarceration since 2007 for various corruption crimes centered on his crooked reign as Secretary of State. Ryan, a Kankakee Republican, is scheduled to be formally released from prison on July 4.
