Justice Stevens rules against Blago trial delay

In an emergency ruling, Associate Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens ruled against a defense motion requesting a 30 day delay to the start of the Rod Blagojevich corruption trial, which is scheduled to begin next Wednesday. The Supreme Court will soon issue a decision on several cases involving laws regarding giving the public "honest services."

A revised Blago indictment was issued earlier this year as a workaround if the Court strikes down honest services laws.
