Daisies in Morton Grove

The arrival of daisies in northern Illinois usually means June is here or it's almost here. In this case it's a little bit of both. I photographed these daisies on Memorial Day in Morton Grove's Linne Woods, but I'm posting the picture on the first day of June.

Daisies, which are members of the aster family, are not native to North America--they are an exotic species from Europe. What I particularly like about daisies is that unlike most other flowers, you can easily find them on moonlit nights.
