Glenview's Obama stimulus "campaign sign"

Did you know that since 1952 it has been illegal to use tax dollars for "publicity or propaganda?" But last summer, responding to pressure from Republican members of the House Oversight Committee, the the Department of Transportation has "relaxed their original ARRA signage requirements" on what I call Obama stimulus campaign signs are "encouraged" but not an obligation.

So there are fewer of these propaganda placards on our roads.

But leave it to morally (if not more than that) bankrupt Illinois to bypass on a sensible money-saving idea. In the last week, I found two of these signs, the one pictured here can be found on Glenview Road in Glenview, which is just north of my home in Morton Grove.

Illinois has a Democratic governor and the Democrats control both houses of the General Assembly.

These signs are just another "Chicago coincidence." Which means there is no coincidence.
