From Chicago News Bench: Downtown Chicago's Obama stimulus "campaign sign"

Up until the Industrial Revolution, winter truces were common in warfare. And such was the case at least in the cold weather parts of America with those ubiquitous Obama stimulus "campaign signs." But I found one in Morton Grove earlier this month, and Tom Mannis of the Chicago News Bench encountered one on South State Street in downtown Chicago.

And there was no work being done near Mannis' sign.

The nationwide unemployment rate is 9.4 percent.

Irony time: Located just three blocks away from the Loop sign is the Metropolitan Correctional Center. It's where the president's first political sponsor, Tony Rezko, resides.
