Maserati-driving ex-Detroit HS principal sentenced to year in prison

Detroit school
Alarm bells should have gone off when students, parents, and teachers saw Detroit high school principal Kenyetta Wilbourn Snapp driving her Maserati with "GUCCI1" license plates.

Well they certainly did last year when she was indicted in a kickback scheme with a crooked Detroit Public Schools vendor. Snapp, who is no longer a principal, accepted $58,000 in kickbacks. Today a federal judge sentenced her to a year and a day in federal prison--she has to pay $58,000 in restitution to DPS and $26,000 to the IRS.

But of course Snapp was "for the kids."
