Unlike Pat Quinn, Deval Patrick is quickly settling his sports bet

Because the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Boston Bruins in this year's Stanley Cup championship, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is coming to Chicago to volunteer at the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Had the Bruins triumphed, Quinn would have flown to Boston and performed a similar service.

However, as I mentioned several times in this space, Quinn bet Wisconsin's Republican governor Scott Walker on the outcome of the NFC Championship game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers--the Packers won. But because Quinn, who accepted millions is campaign contributions from unions during his 2010 run, the Chicago Democrat waited six months to pay off his bet because reformer Walker in the process of making membership in a public-sector union voluntary.
