ILL-inois tied in Knotts: It's been 446 days since Quinn said he was "put on earth" to fix pensions

Don Knotts as
Barney Fife
Well, well, well. Today is July 9th, the day Governor Pat Quinn set as the deadline for the bipartisan General Assembly committee to find a solution to Illinois' public pension crisis.

And they won't meet Quinn's deadline.

Of course not! Because the hapless Chicago Democrat said 446 days ago that he was "put on earth" to fix the state's pensions. Isn't Quinn supposed to save the day?

Maybe not.

From the State Journal-Register:
Sen. Bill Brady, R-Bloomington, an announced candidate for governor, said lawmakers need to know what Quinn wants in a bill before he will sign it.

"He's got to tell us the parameters," Brady said. "It's going to be very difficult to pass a bill without knowing the governor's position."
Think of our state as being run by Deputy Barney Fife--without the laughs.

Illinois' pensions are under-funded by $100 billion. The debt grows by $5 million each day.

We need to nip that debt. Nip it...nip it...nip it in the bud.

C'mon Barney Quinn...you can do it. Just tell the unions "No."
