Fall foliage: Cottonwoods and sumacs

I thought I would sneak in one final fall colors photograph. With the exception of those trees that keep their leaves all winter--such as white oaks--most of the trees in the Chicago area are leafless.

I took this picture two weeks ago at the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve in Highland Park. Earlier this week--from that same bluff--I videotaped the big waves on Lake Michigan caused by Hurricane Sandy.

The trees here are sumacs and cottonwoods. I used a film grain filter from PhotoShop Elements for this photograph.
