Hoosier Hobbit hallelujah: Mourdock beats Lugar

Hoosier Hobbit hallelujah!
"...and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor."
Wall Street Journal, July 27, 2011.

"Hoosier Hobbit hallelujah" is something a Tea Party Hobbit is declaring in the state east of me, Indiana.

Richard Mourdock sent six-term incumbent Richard Lugar packing in today's Indiana Primary.

I met Mourdock at FreedomWorks' BlogCon last fall, I was impressed with his humility and his confidence. Yes, it's possible to have both. While I've never met Lugar and I'm unlikely to now, he seems to me to be one of those creatures who are in abundance in Washington--a pompous ass. What can you say about a man who represents a state in the Senate who he doesn't even live there.

Mourdock, who is Indiana's state treasurer, will face South Bend congressman Joe Donnelly in the general election.

The fight is not over, Hobbits. In the Lord of the Rings, the book that is, Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry had one more battle to win after defeating Sauron. 'Sharkey' awaited them in the Shire.

As for those media 'experts' who declared the tea party dead, our movement was never about rallies and protests--it's about results and victory.
