Here are a few links I've come across today that made my Independence Day better, and I hope they will do the same for you.Andrew Malcom writes the Top to the Ticket blog for the Los Angeles Times, he gives you the opportunity to read the Declaration of Independence with the musical accompaniment of an artist known as Amiena--who sings our national anthem.
The Wichita Eagle presents a video of Kansans reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
And Pat Hickey touches on a number of subjects on his July 4th post, but he dedicates most of it to the moving story of Motts Tonelli, a star halfback for Notre Dame and the old Chicago Cardinals, who endured his toughest test during the Bataan Death March. After the war Cardinals owner Charlie Bidwill had Tonelli play one more time--so he could qualify for his NFL pension.
How could I not write about Independence Day without Philadelphia? Midnight Blue Says, a Philly blogger (sorry about the Flyers, by the way), writes about a nation our Founding Fathers would not recognize.
