ObamaCare tanning tax protest in Nebraska on Thursday

Sneaked into the ObamaCare bill when few were looking--or reading the bill--was a 10 percent tanning salon tax.

Unaccustomed to being prayed upon, the tanning industry is beginning to fight back. The tax takes effect on Thursday, which is when a protest, organized by the Nebraska Indoor Tanning Association, will occur outside the state capitol in Lincoln.

Exemptions from the tanning tax have been carved out for lucky ones--continuing an Obama Administration pattern. Dermatologists and fitness clubs are the winners of this Democratic lottery.

Speaking of Democrats, Sen. Ben Nelson of Cornhusker Kickback fame, will be a target at the protest. Nebraska's sole Democrat in Washington was the only member of the state's congressional delegation to vote for ObamaCare.

Two prominent Nebraska Republicans, Gov. Dave Heineman and former Omaha Mayor Hal Daub, are backing the axing of the tanning tax.

You can certainly say one thing about our first community organizer president: He is getting people to organize--against his policies.
