President Obama attended this evening's Chicago White Sox-Washington Nationals game in the District of Columbia. The resurgent South Siders topped the Nats 2-1 in extra innings. Obama wasn't interviewed during the game; the last time he attended a Nationals game, Obama spoke with former Sox hurler Rob Dibble, color analyst for the Nats, who asked the president was his favortie Sox player when he was growing up. He couldn't name anyone, then he revealed that he was a fan of the Oakland A's when he was a kid--a diversion from his coveted narrative.
Had he been interviewed tonight, Obama might have been queried about the White Sox being just two games from clinching the annual Cubs-White Sox crosstown series, which would earn them the BP Crosstown Cup.
Oh, the oil is still pouring into the Gulf. But at least Obama didn't golf today.
