With Blago trial set to begin next week, will Giannoulias accept support from Rod's corrupt friends?

From an Illinois Republican Party press release:

"The SEIU is also targeting the state’s open Senate seat and the House seat vacated by Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)." – The Hill, 5/21/10

"[Alexi]'s no doubt excited about stepping up to the same trough that netted Blagojevich more than a million dollars in campaign cash." – Democratic Senate candidate David Hoffman, 9/24/09.

Next week, Rod Blagojevich will go on trial for allegedly attempting to sell Illinois’ U.S. Senate seat. At the heart of the Blagojevich enterprise in Illinois - and prominently named in the U.S. Attorney's indictment - was the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

On Friday, the SEIU revealed it would spend $100 million on Democratic campaigns across America this election cycle - including the very Senate seat that Rod Blagojevich put up for sale in consultation with SEIU.

Will Alexi Giannoulias tell SEIU to stay out of Illinois or will he "step up to the same trough" as Democrat David Hoffman predicted last year?

Starting tomorrow, the Illinois Republican Party will detail the close relationships between the SEIU, Rod Blagojevich and other corrupt individuals and institutions.
