600 museums offering military families free admission this summer

Blue Star Museums is a program developed by the National Endowment of the Arts and Blue Star Families that it is offering free admission this summer to military personnel and their families to over 600 museums on all 50 states.

Besides many children's museums, prestigious institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago and New York's Museum of Modern Art are part of the program.

Who qualifies?

  • If you are active duty military personnel and/or an immediate family members - spouse or child - to gain free access, please show either a Geneva Conventions CAC ID or a DD Form 1173 ID card at the museum admissions desk.

  • Immediate family members under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an appropriate ID holder.

  • Some special or limited-time museum exhibits may not be included in this free admission program, so check with the museum directly.
  • The program runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Good news for our troubled times.

And the NEA finally does something right. There's hope for this nation.
