Mississippi post-ObamaCare: Doctor shortage to get worse

It was while on a bloggers' conference call a few weeks ago when I heard these wise words: "Health care coverage does not mean access to health care."

Which leads us to an article from Jackson's Clarion-Ledger, under the headline, Doctor shortage in Miss. about to worsen:

Mississippi already has the nation's largest shortage of doctors. It also has more than half a million people who could gain health insurance when the law takes effect.

"With more people covered, access is certainly going to be a problem," said Dr. James Keeton, who leads UMC as the vice chancellor for Health Affairs and dean of the School of Medicine.
