In my final musical tribute to New Orleans, in honor of the Saints' playing in this evening's Super Bowl, I've included a 2006 video of Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint performing the title track of "The River In Reverse."
Yes, the song is about Hurricane Katrina.
The pair are perforing on "Late Night with David Letterman," and Letterman seems genuinely enthusiastic about the song. But then again, Letterman and Costello share similar political views.
Although Letterman had moved from Indiana by the time the Colts moved there from Baltimore, it's safe to assume he's backing Indiananpolis tonight.
