Cleaner Chicago River could mean more global warming?

Chicago is the only major city that doesn't disinfect its wastewater before emptying it into bodies such as the Chicago River. Yet it is treated, and the water is described as "95 to 98 percent" clean.

But there is push to disinfect the sewage, which Governor Pat Quinn and Mayor Richard Daley favor.

But there is one problem, the Chicago Tribune reports. The electricity needed for the processs would add to the carbon footprint, which means (to some people) increased man-made global warming.

Odd...there is no mention of Climategate in the Tribune story.
