Calumet, Michigan's St. Anne's Church

The booming mining town of Calumet, Michigan had several Catholic churches at the turn of the last century. Each served an ethnic constituency. French-Canadians had their church, St. Anne's.

As with the other Catholic churches in the Upper Peninsula town, except for St. Paul the Apostle, St. Anne's was deconsecrated in 1966. According to Pasty.com, it has never been used as a house of worship, but a flea market (!) briefly called it home.

Restoration efforts have brought back some of the beauty of the church's interior.
