Baucus bullying update

Last month, at the urging of Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), an agency of the Health and Human Services Department issued a gag order against Humana Health Care. What did Humana do to earn such an extreme action? It sent an innocent letter to its customers that a Medicare program they utilize might be cut. Hey, they're just communicating with their clients and letting them know they may have to pay more for their health care.

The increasingly touchy Democrats view that as an attack. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Republicans sided with free speech and common sense.

Fortunately, Let Freedom Ring has stepped up to the plate and issued a Freedom of Information request asking for "all correspondence, notes, emails, faxes, telephone logs, office visit logs, records of meetings and related documents exchanged between United States Senator Max Baucus' office and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services" concerning last month's gag order.
