California Collision: Mule Deer

The mule deer is a close relative of the white-tailed deer, and share much of the same range. Although there are not white-tails in California. The basic range of mule deer is everywhere from the Great Plains westward.

Mule deer get get their names from their large ears, which give them superb hearing. They have black-and-white tails. In Yosemite, Mule Deer are the most common large mammals.

This will be my last Yosemite post of this series.

Next: Tioga Lake
