Obama stimulus "campaign sign" in downtown Chicago

I drove past this economic stimulus Barack Obama 2012 campaign sign last Monday on Interstate 90-94, known to Chicagoans as the Kennedy Expressway.

There was no way, however, I was going to take my life into my hands just for a photograph.

However, Mrs. Marathon Pundit was a passenger in a car this afternoon and was able to capture this shot--right in the heart of the lion's den--downtown Chicago, specifially at the Washington Boulevard exit.

As I noted a couple of time in the last week, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) included these signs in his list of the 100 most wasteful stimulus projects. Each sign costs $300, and no one with the Illinois Department of Transportion knows how many signs have been placed on state roadsides.

Not exactly transparent.

But political campaigns usually don't have precise count of the signs they place.

Just like the Park Ridge sign, this one leans to the left.
