Arab country with slavery shuts down Israeli embassy

And then there were two....

Now that Mauritania has shut down the Israeli embassy there, only Jordan and Egypt have official relations with the Jewish state.

Mauritania, a poor country in northwest Africa isn't known for much, besides slavery.

About 20 percent of Mauritanians are slaves. The practice is illegal there, but it's clear the government isn't doing enough to end it.

20 percent.

For the most part slaves are blacks, slaveholders are lighter-skinned.

Mauritania chose to end it's official relationship with Israel because of its invasion of Gaza.

How noble of them.
