We still want a special election.
After Senate Rules Committee Chairman Diane Feinstein (D-CA) threw her support in favor of Rod Blagojevich's pick for the vacant Illinois Senate seat, it was a matter of time before the wall cracked--and this morning AP is reporting that the Democrats will allow Burris will become Illinois' junior senator.
The specific reason Burris was denied entry to the Senate floor was that his credentials lacked the signature of Illinois secretary of state, Jesse White, yet another Chicago Democrat.
But this morning White said that his autograph is only a ceremonial gesture.
The circus surrounding Blago-enabler Burris will continue, although it will be somewhat muted now.
Did I mention that we want a special election?
UPDATE 10:05 AM CST: Not so fast there. It appears, according to the Fox News Channel, that "options" are being explored, and Burris won't be seated--at least yet.

ReplyDeleteThe Roland Burris appointment made
by a corrupt Blago, is a (Bleeping)
joke. We Illinoisans should've
been given the opportunity of a
special election to fill the senate
seat vacated by the Obamamessiah,
and to vote for a replacement for
Blago!
