Life with a broken furnace--and others less fortunate

My twenty year-old furnace isn't working, and it will have to be replaced. Not a huge deal, since Mrs. Marathon Pundit and I were expecting that we'd have to remove the relic soon.

Temperatures in Morton Grove are quite balmy as I type this, about 70 degrees. Last week we had a frost, and things were not pleasant indoors for us.

Chicago's winters are brutal, and in 1997 it was especially rough for residents living in buildings once owned by Barack Obama's first political sponsor, convicted felon Antoin "Tony" Rezko.

Some of the buildings were within, or nearby, Barack Obama's old state Senate district.

And Obama says he never knew a thing about it.

The audacity!

Election Day is tomorrow.
