Scientologists have been in the news lately. Last month Kirstie Alley brought a bunch of basic supplies to the residents of Greensburg, Kansas--the entire town was destroy. I'm sure the commodities were appreciated, but could Alley have done the good deeds without fellow Scientologists accompanying her?

Last week, John Travolta used the opportunity to talk about his "faith" while plugging his latest movie, "Hairspray." In an interview for W magazine, the erstwhile Vinnie Barbarino defended Tom Cruise's 2005 "Today Show" statements on the dangers of psychiatry and anti-depressants.
Statistics are not available, but there is speculation that prescriptions of such drugs skyrocketed among those who saw the Travolta snoozer, Battlefield Earth, which was based on an L. Ron Hubbard novel. Hubbard is the founder of Scientology.
Let's move on to Tom Cruise, the world's foremost Scientologist. According to Expatica Germany, the male half of "TomKat" is planning a film about the 1994 "German Generals Plot" to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Cruise wants to play the lead role in the movie, that of Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, who was the driving force behind the conspiracy that had it been sucessful, Hilter would have died, but many lives would have been saved.
Hitler, by the way, was the Xenu of Germany.
Part of the planned movie requires filming in the current German military headquarters in Berlin. But because of his ties to Scientology, some German politicians don't want to let Cruise into the building.
Also, Von Stauffenburg's son objects to having a Scientologist playing his father.
Which is probably making Cruise depressed.
