Tough opening day for the Minnesota Twins: Longtime announcer dies

Off-the-field news is dominating today's Major League Baseball's opening day.

Longtime radio voice of the Minnesota Twins, Herb Carneal, passed away yesterday.

During late nights, I can pick up WCCO Radio out of Minneapolis, and while scouring the airwaves for baseball news in the pre-cable TV era, I'd pick up snippets of his broadcast. RIP.
