Four killed and at least 15 wounded in Chicago over weekend

In the last weekend before the final round of voting in Chicago--Election Day is Tuesday for mayor and some aldermanic races, four people were shot to death and at least 15 others were wounded.

Paul Vallas, who has a slight lead in most polls, promises to hire more cops. His challenger, Brandon Johnson, is dancing around the issue, but he was part of the defund the police movement in 2020. Perhaps he still is.

Of the four shooting deaths, One man was killed near the United Center Friday night. Also on the West Side, on Saturday a man was fatally wounded in Lawndale. A few hours later, on the South Side, a store manager carrying an FOID card shot a would-be robber, he later died of his wounds.

And on Sunday, a male teen was killed in Humboldt Park on the Northwest Side.
