It was another violent weekend in Chicago. Five people were shot to death and at least 30 others were wounded. One of the murders was on the Near West Side, the deceased was a victim of a mass shooting that wounded three others early Sunday morning.
Of the other homicides one occurred on the West Side--the three others on the South Side.
In related news Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that the lakefront parks west of Lake Shore Drive will open soon. But not the 18-mile long lakefront path. Which means police officers will still be playing mall cop instead of protecting Chicagoans from violence.
