Cops in sanctuary city Chicago warned about assault weapons

Abandoned factory in Back of
the Yards
Left out of this excerpted article is that Chicago is a sanctuary city and that there is a war among Hispanic gangs in the Brighton Park and Back of the Yards neighborhoods on the Southwest Side. These gangs have added assault weapons to their arsenal.

From the Daily Mail:
Chicago police issued a bulletin Monday warning its officers about gangs armed with high-powered weapons, after three people were shot dead over the weekend - including two attending a memorial for the earlier victim.

Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the three people who were killed in the shootings were all members of the same street gang.

The shooting earlier in the day left 26-year-old Daniel Cordova dead, and brother and sister Michael and Adriana Williams were killed in a spray of more than two dozen bullets while attending a makeshift memorial for Cordova hours later.
While not believed to tied to the wounding of two Chicago cops in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, assault weapons were used in that attack.

Meanwhile Chicago's police superintendent, Eddie Johnson, is calling for tougher gun laws.

But what about Chicago's sanctuary city status?

Yes, I get it. A majority of Hispanics are not living in this country illegally. But wouldn't a crime fighter want every law possible at his disposal to protect the public?

  1. Definately tougher gun laws to make it harder for the gang-bangers to legally buy those assault weapons they are using. BTW one wonders if any of those assault weapons can be traced back to Obama's Fast and Furious scam.
