Chiraq: 7 dead and at least 28 wounded over weekend

Abandoned home in Auburn Gresham
Warm weather in Chicago brought with it hot tempers as seven people were shot to death and at least 28 others were wounded over the past weekend.

The Far South Side suffered the most, four of the fatalities took place there. The most outrageous of the murders was in Burnside where a father and a son who were arguing over who should walk their dog shot each other multiple times. The son is dead and dad is in critical condition. One man was murdered in each of these other nearby neighborhoods--Roseland, East Side, and Riverdale.

There was one other deadly shooting on the South Side, in Auburn Gresham.

Elsewhere in Chiraq there were two fatal shootings in normally quiet areas--one in Archer Heights on the Southwest Side and another on the North Side in Ravenswood.
