Despite global warming Lake Michigan water levels foot above average

Foster Avenue Beach, Chicago
One of the negative effects of so-called human-caused global warming will be lower water levels on the Great Lakes.

So what's going on with America's biggest lake?

From the Lake County News-Sun:
The next time you venture to Lake Michigan you may ask yourself, "where's the beach?"

It's still there, it's just under water.

Steve Hungness, chief of operations for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Chicago District, said Lake Michigan water levels are now about a foot above the 90 year average.

"You're going to see a little narrower beach," Hungness said. "For many years, people were used to having a wider beach because the lake levels were down. Now that lake levels are up, there is a smaller beach visible."
