Chicago Teachers Union boss calls Illinois GOP governor "the new ISIS recruit"

Occupy Chicago rally
Imagine the uproar if Illinois' Republican reform governor, Bruce Rauner, called the hardened leftist boss of the Chicago Teachers Union, Karen Lewis, an "ISIS recruit." There would be calls for his resignation from the sympathetic liberal colluders in the mainstream media. And because Lewis is black they'd call the political newcomer a racist.

From the Chicago Tribune:
"Rauner is the new ISIS recruit," Lewis said during an address at a packed City Club of Chicago luncheon, using a term that refers to the Islamic State terrorist group.

"Yes, I said it, and I'll say it again," Lewis continued. "Bruce Rauner is a liar. And, you know, I've been reading in the news lately all about these ISIS recruits popping up all over the place — has Homeland Security checked this man out yet? Because the things he's doing look like acts of terror on poor and working-class people."
Rauner, a successful businessman, made the sensible suggestion earlier this year that state law should be changed so Chicago Public Schools, which is essentially insolvent, be allowed to declare bankruptcy.

But Lewis of course is against that, which is understandable because seventy percent of the CPS budget goes to wages and benefits, including pensions. And with a bankruptcy, union contracts are set aside by a federal judge and pensioners are allowed to get a "haircut."

Chicago Public Schools is really a unionized employment and retirement program which on good days--and there aren't that many of those--it educates kids a little bit.

With radicals like Lewis in a position of power, it's easy to see why Illinois and Chicago are hemorrhaging residents.
