No wall then either: On this day in 1916 Pancho Villa attacks New Mexico

Marathon Pundit in
New Mexico
Prior to 9/11 the last attack on mainland America took occurred 100 years ago today when Pancho Villa's Mexican rebels attacked Columbus, New Mexico. The invaders burned and looted the border town, killing eight US soldiers and ten civilians. The 13th Cavalry Regiment drove off Villa's irregulars.

Of course there was no border wall at Columbus then.
