Sue Silliman House in Three Rivers, Michigan

Three Rivers, Michigan is a small town--but it's outsized in history.

Near where the Portage and Rocky rivers flow into the St. Joseph is the Sue Silliman House. This colonial-style brick structure, originally named Riversbye, was built by her father, Arthur. On the first floor was a blacksmith shop, the second and third stories were for the elder Silliman's family.

Sue was a longtime local librarian and historian who died in 1945. The home is now a museum.
