Detroit preparing for Devil's Night

One sickening Detroit tradition is the annual Devil's Night arson spree.

From the Detroit Free Press:

Signs are being posted to warn would-be arsonists in Detroit as the city seeks more volunteers to help protect neighborhoods around the Halloween period.

The city says the signs are being posted on vacant houses as part of the Oct. 29-31 Angels' Night campaign and say "This House Is Being Watched."

An event to promote the effort is Thursday.

Angels' Night has been credited with reducing the number of intentionally set fires at the end of October. It's a long-running response to what was known as Devil's Night, the day before Halloween. In 1984, Detroit had more than 800 fires during the period.

Devil's Night is "celebrated" in Flint, Michigan too.
