Yesterday Timothy Smith was the 200th murder victim in Baltimore this year. In 2014 there were 211 homicides. In April, after the death of Freddie Gray in police custody in April, rioters set fires and looted stores. Baltimore's Democratic mayor offered "space to destroy" to the thugs and a few days later her fellow Democrat, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, quickly charged the cops with serious charges including manslaughter.
Baltimore police officers rightly judged that their government no longer has their back--so they are no longer pursuing the most dangerous parts of their hazardous jobs.
Who can blame them?
