(Photos) Cutleaf toothwort

After another brutal winter the sight of wildflowers in the woods is a welcome one.

The cutleaf toothwort is a four-petal flower that is among the earliest bloomers in Illinois. The blossoms are either white or a light purple.

These flowers were photographed yesterday afternoon in Morton Grove's Linne Woods Forest Preserve.
