Ex-Democratic mayor of Charlotte indicted for vote fraud

The former mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, Democrat Patrick Cannon, is currently serving a 44 month service after pleading guilty to a single count of honest services fraud--he was caught in an FBI bribery sting operation. Before he reported to the House with Many Doors, Cannon cast an early vote in the 2014 general election. As a convicted felon, Cannon was barred from voting.

Cannon claims his action was not intentional, saying in November, "I did this without thinking--the light didn't come on that day." The ex-mayor's vote was not counted.
